i didn't see this in your video, so i assume it isn't a feature yet.
i am a musician, and our band has profiles on myspace, facebook, and youtube. its really kind of a pain to upload the same photos to both services, post the same videos, make the same events, confirm friend requests, etc.
is that the kind of thing that 8hands would eventually do? as far as i'm concerned, it could even be a separate program -- most of my time on social networks is spent uploading content, not downloading it.
if you guys aren't planning to do that sort of thing (which is definitely understandable), can you recommend someone else who does?
I guess some of those suggestions are technical, but to avoid opening multiple thread, I'll write it all here.
1) install the 8 hands client.
I've just installed a fresh copy of Windows xpsp2(heb), with all updates, and some software (Actually, i only use windows as a guest OS on a Linux box (via a virtualization software), not that it should matter.
anyway, i got a message that the file msvcr71.dll is missing.
i guess that all of yore developers have it on they're machines, but average windows users like me, don't always have this file.
2)register to the forum.
I've registered with my desired user name, but misspelled my email.
obviously, no confirmation mail has arrived.
I've tried to re-register with the same user name, but like you can guess, It wasn't avilable.
maybe you should consider having the regitsation expired after 24H or so.
maybe it does, but on the registration page there was no indication of it (or was it?)
3)under Linux, it's possible to install some windows apps, including some big and heavy one.
as far as the 8hands client, i couldn't go through the first step because there a OS check.
i was informed that i can't install the software because i don't run windows xp.
how about canceling that line of code that checks for OS so even Linux users can give it a try (assuming no other technically problems will show up)
i know, it's kind of a big thing to change and there is no real reason to, but it can be
So You've spent some time with 8hands and probably have more than one thought in your mind. We must emphasize the fact that this is an alpha version lots of bugs are known and being taking care of, the design isn't final, and yes, we are already planning to add many more features and offer support in many more networks but we want to know if there's anything else we missed.
We would love to get ANY input: a complaint, suggestion or 8hands problems you've been having. Even if it seems obvious or absurd, not possible or silly we want to know about it.
So we put together a questionnaire for you alpha users - don't hesitate to write a billion words in it. Everything you say will get great attention from us after all, we are here to make 8hands better.
To answer our questionnaire please download it and send your filled questionnaires to info@8hands.com
thank you,
the 8hands mega-team
