Can't connect to the 8hands server
I just installed the application on XP, but when trying to log in I get the following error:
"Can nort connect to 8hands server. Please check your network setting and try again later."
I don't have any other problems access the net. My browser, instant messenger, emailm etc, programs all work fine.
Is this ia firewall issue?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi mhaselti,
Is it possible that you are trying to login into a very old version of 8hands?
Please uninstall your current version and try and download the newest version from our download page and see if works.
Don't forget to keep us updated.
Thanks,
Maya.
I think this might be the same error. I have the current public installation of 8hands, and am seeing it on two different WinXP machines. Right clicking the task tray icon for 8hands, I have found that setting my status to "offline" makes the app completely disabled, and hovering here shows the "can't connect to 8hands" error mentioned above. The task tray menu for 8hands has "show 8hands" and "exit" but neither are responsive. The only course of action is to kill off the 8hands process in the task manager and launch a new 8hands session. The same issue occurs when selecting the "sign out" option.
Hi Gruntled,
Since we are not aware of that issue, I think the best thing for you to do is to contact me directly, and we will try to figure what's that bug or problem is all about.
I'll be happy if you would mail me to alonu (at) 8hands (dot) com.
Thanks a lot!
Alon
