8hands Featured Song: "The Punks Are Writing Love Songs" by Tullycraft
If you follow this blog, you probably noticed that lately we are all in a very joyful & popie mode. Maybe it's because we're all so happy testing a new version of 8hands that we'll be releasing soon, or maybe it's just something freaky in the air. Either way, we're keeping that happy-happy-joy-joy state (at least until we write about great melancholic artists like Flowers From The Man Who Shot Your Cousin again) and I believe the new single by Tullycraft will help us hang on to our silliness a bit longer.
In case you don't know, Tullycraft is an American indie-twee-pop band that can make even the toughest thugs stand in front of a mirror making funny faces. So far they've released five albums, and a new one is coming to us soon, in October, titled "Every Scene Needs a Center".
"The Punks Are Writing Love Songs" is the first single from the new album and it's just delicious! The band is still as self aware as they were on their 1996's "Josie" song, but musically they've become very precise and direct with that "in your face pop" attitude. They knowingly borrowed rhythm and "hey" shouts from the Ramones and made them sound relevant, uplifting and basically, nothing but pure fun. Alright Tullycraft!
