Users can create bets using a special form on the site, type the bets' description, add a picture and a start/end date. There are three bet options available - disagree only, agree or disagree, and open options that the user can type in. Most important, all bets are tagged so users can find bets using specific keywords and a tag cloud that appears on the main page.

The bets are made over "peanuts" (virtual coins), prizes or - nice - donations. Gottabet provides a list of charity organizations (both in UK and worldwide), and users can actually bet and donate real money to one or more charities.

Gottabet are also running monthly prize competitions in order to pump up the action on the site: they collaborated with the travel social network WAYN , and are also giving money rewards for craziest bet, the bet that has the most participants (currently in the lead: "How many people will Jack Bauer kill in Season 6?"), and the leading bet placers.

Unfortunately, when it comes to export the bet interfaces to other sites - let's say post them on MySpace profiles, or on blogs - the variety is very limiting. In fact, Gottabet only supports sharing bets on Facebook at the moment. I believe that once other networks will be added, the popularity of Gottabet will definitely rise, since the bets are basically a more unique way to present visitors with questionnaires, surveys, and even use it for marketing purposes.
