We've been preparing for months, and now the big day has finally arrived: our new and improved website is live and direct for your viewing pleasure.

 

As you may have noticed, 8hands has been evolving and growing. With each version, our client keeps getting better; we've also just upgraded our servers for increased speed and efficiency to enhance your 8hands experience, and of course, we promise you all to bring many exciting surprises in the near future. Just wait - we will blow your heads off.

 

8hands has also been getting a lot of love from the outside world, with recent shout outs from Download Squad, Digital Inspiration, G4TV and more.

 

Most importantly, the 8hands community has been growing and thriving, and we decided our crumby old website didn't cut it. You, dear users, deserve more!

 

We set out to create a new site that is cleaner, clearer, prettier, and way way cooler. We've made a number of improvements and added new features, like:

 

• A completely new design.
• A reworked Get Help section that gets to the point.
• A fully upgraded Forums section.
• A new page dedicated to our Supported Networks, as well as descriptions of the events that you will be notified of on 8hands.

Alas, we found that most of our users are as popular as Paris Hilton, with tons of online friends in all of their social networks. As a result, we've created the "All of my active friends" a.k.a. "8hands' global address book" feature. 8hands will now provide a list of ALL your active friends, from ALL your networks, as well as include their activity ranking and list of locations. This feature will allow a convenient, single entry point to your unified social network of friends. With this "address book", you can search for friends, see their latest interactions, browse through their various profiles and discover new 8hands friends to IM and instantly exchange images and videos.

Guys, we are so proud and happy - 8hands is one of 15 HOT Israeli web startups that was chosen to tour Silicon Valley for a week of activities as part of the IsraelWebTour competition.

 

The tour includes meetings with investors, strategic partners, customers, entrepreneurs and industry leaders, as well as roundtable discussions and ad-hoc networking events. The highlight of the week will be a public showcase hosted by Microsoft where each start-up will presented to the industry and press. It will take place today, February 6th.
