How to get started with 8hands

When you run 8hands for the first time after creating an account, you will notice 3 default locations which are added to your 8hands automatically -

The 8hands YouTube page, the 8hands Flickr page and the 8hands blog. Content from these locations is loaded in real time and displays in the "media" section, located at the bottom of the 8hands main window. We do this so that you won't start off empty handed (ha!).

Now you can start adding your own locations (Your MySpace account, your Flickr and YouTube pages and your favorite blogs). You can also add your Twitter account which will allow you to post to Twitter directly from 8hands!

Click here for full instructions on how to do all that.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
For those of you who downloaded version 0.8.007 - There's a minor technical issue with the 8hands blog feed. Click here for instructions on how to solve this issue. We highly recommend that you don't remove the 8hands blog location, so we can keep you notified on new version updates, cool new features and new supported locations (Facebook, Friendster, Xanga and Bebo will be supported real soon!)

After adding your locations, you can start inviting your friends to 8hands (under Options, click Add/Invite). Once they join 8hands they will be automatically added to your Favorites list so you can start using our amazing IM not only to send text, but also images and videos. Simply drag and drop your Flickr/MySpace images and YouTube/MySpace videos on a chat window to instantly show them to your friends!

We highly recommend that you check out our help pages and forums for more information.

Have fun!
